Pupils and staff at St Joseph's Catholic Academy in Norton came together to show their support for International Myotonic Dystrophy Awareness Day by wearing a splash of green and helping to raise awareness of the condition.
The school community proudly took part in the ‘Be Seen Being Green’ initiative, demonstrating solidarity with one of the school's families while encouraging conversations about Myotonic Dystrophy and its impact on those affected.
A Sea of Green Across the School
Children and staff embraced the awareness day by wearing green throughout the school, creating a vibrant display of support and unity.
It was wonderful to see so many members of the school community getting involved and showing their commitment to raising awareness of this rare condition.
Living Out Catholic Social Teaching
The event reflected the Catholic Social Teaching principle of Solidarity, with pupils and staff coming together to support others and demonstrate compassion, understanding and inclusion.
By participating in the awareness day, the school community showed the importance of standing alongside those facing challenges and supporting one another through acts of kindness and empathy.
